The Blood-Red Shoe and Gen – Z
By – Lila Seling Mabo
This blood-red shoe
is not just a shoe—
it is the sound of revolution,
the cry for justice
rising from the feet of the people.
It carries the mark
of the brave Gen Z movement
that, in only forty-eight hours,
brought down power of the Nepali government
This shoe
spoke out when freedom of the press was silenced,
told the truth
when the cinema screen was torn apart.
It wept with the blood of young lives
lost in the streets,
and walked with the souls
who fell to bullets
before they could even cry “Aiya.”
This shoe
remembers bullets falling like rain
under Nepal’s blue sky.
It is the pain of parents with empty arms,
the endless river of tears.
It is the fire that exposed
the hidden black money of the corrupt.
Even if Singha Durbar burns,
their stolen wealth will not last—
the people will laugh at it with scorn.
This shoe
is the face of resistance:
against stolen lands,
against stolen names,
against the attack on Mukumlung Mang.
It is a promise
to complete the dreams
of young martyrs.
It is the warning cry
of Mother Nepal’s broken heart,
still bleeding.
And so—
this blood-red shoe
will never be silent,
will never disappear.
It will echo forever
in the steps of future generations,
rising again in every struggle,
shouting with pride:
“The people’s power will never be defeated.”
