The Rakhu Nepalese Community UK (RNCUK) hosted its annual Teej celebration on Saturday, 31st August 2024. This marks the 16th consecutive year that the RNCUK has celebrated this vibrant festival in the UK. The event’s primary aim is to preserve and celebrate our rich cultural traditions, ensuring that our members and their families remain connected to their roots and heritage.

This annual gathering is also a special occasion where we host Jawai Chellies and Bhanja Bhanjies as our esteemed guests. It provides an opportunity to welcome new members, visitors from Nepal, and recognize and congratulate those within our community who have achieved success in their professional careers or taken bold steps, such as getting married.

We were also honoured to have singer and songwriter Mr. Krishna Bam Malla perform live towards the end of the celebration, bringing joy to all RNCUK members in attendance.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to our Jawai Chellies who travelled from afar to join us for this special day. The RNCUK members also extend their gratitude to the Executive Committee for their diligent planning and execution of the event. We look forward to celebrating this festival for many years to come.

This year’s celebration was organized by the newly elected executive committee, led by Chairperson Mrs. Sobhita Shahi, with the support of her dedicated team: Vice Chairperson Mrs. Khim Shahi (Pushpa), General Secretary Mrs. Sujata Bhandari, Assistant Secretary Anil Malla, Treasurer Mr. Kapil Malla, Assistant Treasurer Mrs. Kushum Malla, and Ladies Coordinator Mrs. Sangita Shahi.
