Greater Rushmoor Nepali Community (GRNC) Celebrated a Remembrance Day

Saturday 12 Nov 2022 – Aldershot. Greater Rushmoor Nepali Community (GRNC) Celebrated a Remembrance Day at Princess Garden in Aldershot, UK.

GRNC paid respects to those Servicemen and women who sacrifices their life in World Wars. President of the GRNC Mr Man Gurung, Community leaders, Mayors, councilors of the Rushmoor Borough Council, Garrison Commander, Coordinators of the Gurkha Memorial Project, Trustees, and Trustees were present on the above Remembrance Day.

Everyone assembled at the  Princess Garden Car park at 1040hrs and marched to the Kulbir Thapa VC memorial statue and arrived at 1045hrs.

The Trustee Leaders of  the Gurkha Memorial Project were read the following sentences:

“ Let us remember God and commend to his sure keeping those who have lived and died in the service of mankind. They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them” was read by sub-coordinator  Capt. Gary Ghale.

At 1100hrs everyone tributed for two minutes, silence and a piper played a lament at the end of the silence.

Major Kim Gauchan read:  “When you go home tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow we gave our today”.

At 11:05hrs the Nepali Priest ( Pandit) and Lama Guru offered words of prayer. At 1110hrs  the people moved for lunch at the Weather spoon Pub in Aldershot.

This was a very special commemoration of those who died in World Wars I, II and other operation where we lost my own grandfather and many other relatives.
