The Magar community in Butwal has celebrated the 43rd Magar Unity Day with great enthusiasm. The Magar community has been observing the day of the establishment of the Nepal Magar Association, which falls on the 15th of Falgun, as Unity Day.

Nepal Magar Association Butwal organized a rally from Lakhanchowk Chauraha and started the formal program by coming to baje bajai’s temple at Butwal-7 via Milanchowk, Bus Park. in this rally Thousands of magar’s people participated in the rally.

Mayor Acharya said that the society could not change if the art, culture, language and costumes of any community could not be protected. Stating that the Magar language has not been changed from the Magar community in the recent past, he said, “The preservation of art, culture, language and costumes is necessary to change the society.” ’

Likewise, Nepal Magar Association central vice-president Geeta Saru Magar said the state has neglected the Magars. Magars said that although they celebrate February 15 as a festival, they are also reluctant to give a public holiday. She also threatened to launch an agitation if the holiday was not kept on February 15 in the calendar.
