The Greater Rushmoor Nepali Community (GRNC) held a meeting on Thursday, 4th September 2025 to discuss preparations for the upcoming Wellesley 10K Run. The meeting was attended by Mr. Dave Porty, Director of Black Valley Water Runners, and Mr. Steve Low, Secretary of Wellesley 10K Runners.

Representing the GRNC, running coordinators Mr. Kiran Buda Magar and Mr. Bimal Gurung outlined key points on event coordination, while Vice Presidents Mr. Uttar Bahadur Gurung and Mr. Jeet Menyangbo contributed their insights from last year’s event.
The second part of the programme included a farewell ceremony for Nepalese journalist Mr. Ash Bahadur Gurung (Kantipur and Lumjung.com). Sponsored by the GRNC six months ago, Mr. Gurung was warmly welcomed on his first arrival in the UK. During this second visit, he expressed his gratitude by presenting a memento from Nepal to GRNC President Mrs. Lila Seling Mabo. The community thanked him for the special gift and bid him farewell in the traditional manner with khada mala.
The meeting and farewell programme were conducted by GRNC General Secretary Lt. (Retd.) Sunil Rana. In closing remarks, President Mrs. Lila Seling Mabo extended sincere thanks to the GRNC Executive Committee, founder senior vice president and past president Mr. Ram Chandra Gurung, the guest of honour Mr. Ash Bahadur Gurung, vice Dr Bishal Gurung, member Nikita Gurung, football coach Roshan Rai and all attendees for their support despite the short notice.
The meeting was described as highly productive and fruitful for the GRNC.
