London- The Council of Ministers meeting held on Thursday under the leadership of Prime Minister Sushila Karki has decided to recall ambassadors appointed through political appointments from 11 countries.
According to the decision, the government has also recalled Chandra Kumar Ghimire, Nepal’s ambassador to the United Kingdom.
Ambassador Ghimire had arrived in the United Kingdom on January 17, 2025 (Magh 4, 2081 BS) to assume office. A former Secretary of the Government of Nepal, Ghimire had been appointed as ambassador on November 17, 2024 (Mangsir 2, 2081 BS). The recalled ambassadors have been instructed to return to Nepal by November 6, 2025 (Kartik 20, 2082 BS).
According to Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel, the government has decided to recall ambassadors from the United Kingdom, China, Germany, Israel, Qatar, Malaysia, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, the United States, and Japan.
