Colchester, UK – On Thursday, 5 November 2026, the Colchester Diverse Communities Network (CDCN) once again supported King Cole’s Kittens in running the annual Guy Fawkes Fireworks Display at Castle Park.
As announced in advance, CDCN volunteers safely guided members of the public through the War Memorial gates throughout the evening. This year, the Colchester Nepalese Society proudly represented CDCN, with 15 dedicated members volunteering as safety stewards.
Arriving at 5:30 pm for a group photograph, the stewards quickly went to work directing visitors to the entrance, where King Cole’s Kittens staff verified electronic tickets. Approximately 8,000 people attended the festivities under dry, clear, and slightly breezy skies.
The spectacular 20-minute display began at 7:35 pm, illuminating the night sky with vibrant colors to the delight of the crowd. Following the finale at 7:55 pm, attendees departed safely and orderly.
Udaibahadur Gurung MBE, Chair and Trustee of CDCN, expressed sincere gratitude to all the volunteers who gave up their evening to ensure the event’s success. The volunteer team included Udaibahadur Gurung MBE, Umesh Kumar Pun MVO, Karna Bahadur Rana, Dam Bahadur Pun, Eric Pun, Mina Gauchan, Jas Kumari Gurung, Yal Kumari Pun, Pravin Rai, Sotan Rai, Tikisara Pun, Huma Rana, Sienna Lee, and Manish Limbu.
